
The Collaboration has been identified in three core areas – Education, Offshore ICT outsourcing and communication and a MoU has been signed with EFFORT, one of the largest investment groups in Ethiopia in this regard.
Commenting on why Lootah IT Solutions chose to set up base in Ethiopia, Mr. Abdulla Saeed Lootah, CEO, Lootah IT Solutions said, “We have studied the ICT sector in Africa and found that Ethiopia, being one of the fastest growing nations in the region, has immense potential to develop as an ICT Hub in the region and their willingness to engage strongly in the area of information infrastructure has driven us to be one of the early investors here.”
H. E Mr. Sufian Ahmed, Ethiopian Minister of Finance and Economic Development, said on this occasion,” Information technology will provide Ethiopia with powerful tools for creating new social and economic opportunities and help accelerate the development of a knowledge-based society by focusing on education, fostering innovation and creating jobs.”
ICT services identified to be offered in the region would include High quality inbound voice services, Network infrastructure solutions, Storage, VoIP, Security services and Consulting services.
